June 17th, Thursday 11:00-1:00 p.m.	Summer Fun Picnic         Come have lunch with other families in our play yard.  We will provide lunch, beverages, simple activities, music, and incentives.
August Parent Events
August 19th, Thursday 10:00 a.m.	Parent Advisory Group*
August 25th, Wednesday 1:00-2:00 p.m.	Back-to-School Ice Cream Social Penfield families are invited to our play yard for build-your-own ice cream sundaes.  We will provide the ice cream and toppings and school supplies will be given away too (while supplies last).

September 2nd, Thursday 1:00 p.m.	Transition Planning Conference**
September 9th, Thursday 5:30-8:00 p.m.	Betty Brinn Family Night Join Penfield families and friends at the Betty Brinn Children’s museum for a family night.  Bring the whole family!  Snacks will be served, children can play, and all Penfield families who attend the event and take a brief tour will receive a FREE one-year membership for the museum good for the whole family!  This is an incredible offer for our families. Please meet us at the museum!

Wednesday, November 11th 10:00-11:30 a.m.	Teaching Your Children Good Nutrition Good nutrition is very important and teaching healthy habits young will instill good decision making skills in your children.  Join us for a program on nutrition and healthy eating habits.  We will provide child care, healthy snacks, and free gifts.

December 11th, Saturday Children with last names A-L from 10:30-12:00 Children with last names M-Z from 1:00-2:30	Holiday Party Penfield is hosting its annual Holiday Celebration for our families. Join us for snacks, multi-cultural themed activities, music, family photos, face painting and much more. All Penfield children will receive a very special gift from our friends at Kohl’s Department Store. Siblings are invited and will also leave with gifts. Bring your families and join us for this very special event. You must attend to receive your child’s gift from Kohl’s!

*Parent Advisory Group
This group will meet four times a year. Parents will be able to problem solve with staff, brainstorm ideas, as well as participate with events and outreach. This group has helped make significant changes at Penfield. Your thoughts are very important to us, please come and share them. We would love for you to come in and talk to us about your ideas for our Family Programs and what events parents are most interested in. Parents will receive new clothing for their Penfield child. Please come and share your suggestions with us. Incentives, child care, and snacks will be provided!

**Transition Planning Conferences
Transition planning conferences are designed to give parents of children who are approaching their third birthday the opportunity to talk to Penfield staff, Milwaukee Public schools, and Head Start.  Both group time and individual time will be available to discuss your child’s future and the choices that will be yours to make in the near future.  Transition Planning Conference will be offered in English at 1:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month and at 1:30 p.m. in Spanish.
